About Tech Trial Run-IV

Tech Trial Run-IV marks the next evolution of India’s E-Highway journey under the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV) initiative. Scheduled for launch on World EV Day, 09 September 2026, the Delhi–Mumbai Tech Trial Run will focus on validating operational conditions required for electric commercial vehicles to achieve and surpass diesel-equivalent throughput in captive fleet operations.

 

Building upon the learnings from Delhi–Agra, Delhi–Jaipur and Chennai–Trichy, Tech Trial Run-IV introduces key dependency integrations across charging infrastructure, fleet operations, battery services, roadside assistance, on-road services, monitoring systems and command-control operations to create a scalable framework for Zero Emission Trucking on India’s future E-Highway network.

 

The trial will generate real-world operational data supporting the deployment of Connected Commercial Vehicles (CCV), 3G Energy Stations, climate-financed E-Highway infrastructure and multimodal logistics ecosystems across the proposed 5,500 km National E-Highway network.

Tech Trial Run-I outcomes

NHEV started its Tech Trial Run-I on 25th November 2020 from Delhi to Agra via Yamuna Expressway, where components of all 4 major Ease of Doing Business deliveries were showcased to bring EVs on highways.

Tech Trial Run-IV

Tech Trial Run-IV will introduce key dependency integrations necessary for electric commercial vehicles to match and exceed diesel fleet productivity on long-haul corridors.
