prototype Solar Powered EV Charging Station on Jaipur and Agra Corridor

It reduced energy demand on the grid due to EV charging as the charging power is locally generated in a ‘green’ manner through solar panels. EV battery doubles up as energy storage for the PV and reduces the negative impact of large scale PV integration in the distribution network. Long parking time of EV paves way for the implementation of Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology where the EV acts as a controllable spinning reserve for the smart grid.

Ministry of New & Renewable Energy will be given CapEx preference of priority in allocation for R&D partner PSU and these prototype Solar Power station, aimed to develop affordable Solar-Powered Solutions so that eventually future Charging Stations for Electric Vehicles can be disassociated from Power Grids and its coal-based energy conversion into 100% emission-free e-mobility.

One of the big selling points behind electric vehicles is that they’re environmentally friendly. This is true to a large extent; pure electric vehicles come with no tailpipe emissions that harm the atmosphere. However, the electricity they require comes from the power grid, which is still significantly fuelled by coal and gas.

National Highway for Electric Vehicle by 2020 (#NHforEV2020) is 1st intercity e-mobility prototypical program to facilitate EODB (Ease of Doing Business) through SWC (Single Window Clearance) under Ministry of Commerce & Industry support based on reforms of Ministry of Power for setup of Charging Stations on National Highways and their regional transport ecosystems on minimalistic CAPEX and self-sustainable OPEX with cwith cordial support from the Government to push e-mobility at best possible

Since April 2018,out of 12 National Highways marked by MoP to be converted in Electric Corridor, Advance Services for Social and Administrative Reforms is prototyping two of them under its Ease of Doing Business (EODB) Program “NHforEV2020” to enable India’s first two routes for EVs with international standard charging ecosystem namely 1) Delhi–Agra (Yamuna Expressway) and 2) Delhi – Jaipur (NH 48) with 18 charging stations and 270 Charging points.
